« We went with MA. outside Saint-Lazare because one man said there were a lot of people outside. We went out there and met this man, FE. (probably butchered the spelling, somehow similar to Jared but with a F). MA. put us in charge of the drinks because he wanted us to initiate the conversation. So we made the drink and luckily he knew english. He complimented us on the few French phrases that we did know. We ended up talking to him for awhile and this conversation was definitely the highlight of my night. He talked of how he wasn’t originally from Paris and used to have girl but it didn’t work out. He said one of us looked more Dutch and the other more French, which to us was a bit funny.
We then got into more spiritual things and asked what he believed. He was very genuine to us and when we asked if we could pray for him, he said yeah. We asked if there was anything specific and he said, ask that God would provide him with a home as well as for God to heal him. So HA. prayed for all of us and afterwards he was just sitting there in silence. After awhile he told us that after we prayed he just had a huge sense of peace over him and said he was very appreciative for our prayers and very happy to have met us. It really was the highlight of that night as well as one of my top favorite things we’ve done so far. I really enjoyed meeting some of the people who really don’t have anything and it humbled me helping me realize simplicity is good and ok. Even though they have nothing they can have God who gives them everything. In America some of the homeless I’ve met are some of the strongest believers in Christ. It’s amazing how faithful they are even in the midst of living on the streets without much food. »
